Cambridge University Hospitals say there could be short notice cancellations to appointments due to a junior doctors' strike.
Industrial action in the form of strike action by members of the British Medical Association (BMA) is due to take place from 7am on Wednesday 3rd January until 7am on Tuesday 9th January.
Due to this, patients are being warned that appointments may be cancelled at short notice on the days of the strike action.
The hospital says: "During industrial action, we need to reduce the number of appointments we have planned to ensure we have safe levels of staffing. We will contact patients directly if this means that their appointment will need to be postponed.
We know how disappointing and worrying this will be for those waiting for treatment and we are very sorry this is the case.
If you do not hear from us, please attend your appointment as planned. We will usually contact you by phone, and if you have MyChart – our electronic patient portal, your appointment will show as cancelled."
