Conkers village shop and Post Office in Barton has had a facelift and trebled in size.
Owners Deni Devappriya and Chamara Dapanadurage took over the small store in 2017, then the neighbouring Carters shoe shop closed just before covid.
Now, Deni and Chamara have taken over the empty premises, which has allowed then to triple their shop space and greatly increase their retail range.
The whole premises has been refitted, including new "Conkers" signage inspired by the nearby trees, and a small team of locals have joined the staff.
Barton Postmistress, Deni Devappriya:
"The people of Barton have been so welcoming to us, it’s a beautiful village and there are lots of really lovely people.
"At first we were commuting from Romford, and five years ago we moved to the village, which has made life easier for us and for raising our children.
"Customers keep complimenting us for all of the improvements we have made to the shop."
