Boat Race Moves From London To Cambridgeshire

Next year's Boat Race will be staged on the River Great Ouse in Cambridgeshire.

Organisers have made the decision to move the event from the River Thames due to ongoing coronavirus restrictions and uncertainty over the safety of Hammersmith Bridge.

The last time the race took place outside of London was in 1944, when the war made it impossible to stage it in the capital. Again, it departed from Ely in that year.

The route will go from Ely to Littleport and the race sets off at 4.40pm on Saturday 3rd April 2021.
