Cambridge GP surgery under new provider

East Barnwell Health Centre is now being overseen by Malling Health.

As of 10 October 2024, the new provider is running the surgery for a period of seven years, with the option to extend for up to three further years.

It means some patients at the site on Ditton Lane are getting used to seeing new doctors.

Malling Health say they've been working with the outgoing contract holders to provide a 'smooth transfer of services and staff'.

In June 2024, four GPs at the Fen Ditton surgery announced they were handing back their contracts due to spiralling costs.

The previous partners at the clinic, Drs Rachel Harmer, Amine Boualem, Alisdair Macnair and Katherine Mellanbye explained they took the decision with 'great sadness', but due to the lack of funding they were no longer able to run it.
