Cambridge pub goers excited by Flying Pig hoardings

The promised reopening of the Flying Pig in Cambridge has moved a step closer.

The much-loved pub on Hills Road closed its doors in October 2021 after plans were submitted to redevelop nearby land.

These proposals fell through before a new developer stepped in, who said they would build new five-storey and seven-storey office buildings whilst preserving the live music venue.

Construction work began in November 2023, and in June 2024 hoardings appeared around the pub reinforcing the promise, stating: "pigs do fly, the flying pig pub will be back".
