It has been confirmed "Christmas in Cambridge" is returning to Parker's Piece for 2024.

"Christmas in Cambridge" will run from 14 November 2024 to 5 January 2025, as part of a collaboration between Cambridge City Council and Seventa Events.

The event will be the first of a seven-year deal, which will transform Parker’s Piece with festive entertainment and attractions.

The Christmas village has been designed to appeal to those of all ages, with a range of entertainment, food and retail options, open daily from 11am.

Simon Brooks, Director of Seventa Events:

"We are beyond excited to kick off the countdown to an amazing festive season starting November 14th. Our goal is to bring a Christmas event to Cambridge that truly captures the magic and joy of the holidays, creating a celebration that residents can enjoy throughout the season. Christmas in Cambridge is designed to be an event that everyone can take pride in. We are committed to supporting the local economy, working closely with local businesses, suppliers, and traders to create a vibrant and sustainable festive experience for the community.

"From family gatherings to festive nights out with friends and corporate Christmas parties, ‘Christmas in Cambridge’ will offer something for everyone. We’ve partnered with Cambridge Dining Company to enhance our corporate offerings and are eager to collaborate with more local businesses. With a 7-year contract in place, we look forward to growing this event into something truly special for Cambridge, creating jobs, boosting the local economy, and generating income for hotels, restaurants, and retailers."

What to expect from "Christmas in Cambridge" on Parker's Piece in 2024:

  • The Christmas Market – Explore a vibrant market featuring a mix of local and national traders. Guests can enjoy a festive stroll through charming chalet huts, picking up the perfect gifts and savouring delicious street food, like the famous Yorkshire Pudding Wrap.
  • The Ice Rink & Domes – At the heart of the event will be Cambridge’s largest outdoor ice rink. Welcoming all ages and abilities, the rink will feature skate aids for beginners. For those preferring to stay off the ice, viewing platforms and heated domes will offer a cozy spot to enjoy food and drinks with views of the rink.

  • The Après Terrace – Whether it’s trying out the new curling lanes, enjoying free-to-play shuffleboard and air hockey, or indulging in food and drinks from the Après Bar, the Après Terrace will be the hub for festive fun and games in Cambridge.
  • The Big Wheel – Standing 36 meters tall, the Big Wheel will offer stunning views over Cambridge, complemented by a vintage carousel and the Christmas Tree Maze.
