Darryl Preston will continue in the role of Police and Crime Commissioner.

The primary function of the PCC is to hold Cambridgeshire's Chief Constable to account for running the force.

A retired police officer, Conservative Darryl Preston took 38 per cent of the vote, which took place alongside the local elections on 2 May 2024.

His closest rival, Labour’s Anna Smith, a former teacher and Cambridge councillor, took 36 per cent of the vote, while the Liberal Democrats’ Edna Murphy, a former magistrate and Cambridgeshire County Councillor, took 26 per cent.
