All Household Recycling Centres across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough have been closed until further notice.
Residents are asked not leave waste outside the gate – as this is fly tipping.
Cambridgeshire County Council said, "The decision to close sites has not been taken lightly but it is essential to encourage residents to stay at home and limit the spread of Coronavirus.
"Anyone planning to visit a recycling centre, should hold onto the items they were planning to take until the centres are reopened."
