Council supports evening of entertainment to raise funds for Syrian children and families

CAMBRIDGE City Council is supporting an event to raise funds for a charity that helps children and families affected by the war in Syria.

The Rotary Club of Cambridge is organising the event, ‘A Syrian Experience’ which is taking place on Thursday 8 June from 7.30pm at Freemasons’ Hall, Bateman Street.

The evening will feature traditional Syrian music, dance and stories, along with a buffet supper and speakers.

Money raised will go to ShelterBox – a charity which delivers aid including shelter and tools to families in Syria and in refugee camps, to help them rebuild homes and communities.

Tickets are £20 per person and can be purchased by phoning Paul Henry on 01223 247663 or emailing pjhenry@waitrose.com.

More information about the event can be found on the Rotary Club of Cambridge’s website www.cambridgerotary.org.uk
