Cyclist seriously injured in Cherry Hinton collision

A 45-year-old woman has been seriously hurt in a bike crash in Cherry Hinton

Emergency services were called to Fulbourn Road, outside the Peterhouse Technology Park, at about 6.20pm on Sunday 24 November 2024.

A black BMW was involved in a collision with a green e-bike; the driver failed to stop at the scene and the car was later found abandoned in Lime Kiln Road.

The e-bike rider, a 45-year-old woman from Fulbourn, was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, suffering from serious injuries.

A 32-year-old man from Cambridge has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop at a road traffic collision and perverting the course of justice.

Cambridgeshire Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.
