A man who was pulled over in a routine police traffic stop was found to have wraps of cocaine hidden in a roll-on deodorant.
Mirjan Gjoni, 24, was stopped by police in Ely on 3 September. Gjoni acted suspiciously and offered officers a can of energy drink. He also claimed he was going to Soham, but officers noticed he was driving in the wrong direction.
Officers also noted his phone kept ringing while they were talking to him. After a search of Gjoni and his vehicle, they discovered wraps of cocaine hidden inside a roll-on deodorant bottle. They also discovered some cash in the door of the car.
Gjoni, of Churchgate Street, Soham, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply class A and was sentenced to three years in prison at Cambridge Crown Court yesterday (2 November).
Detective Constable Sarah Knights, who investigated, said: “Drugs not only bring harm to individuals, but the related crime, violence and anti-social behaviour brings misery to our communities, which is why it is a priority for the force to disrupt those who sell drugs in Cambridgeshire.”
