Disqualified driving drug dealer jailed

A disqualified driving drug dealer caught with cocaine in a car has been jailed.

Gazmir Hasanpapaj, 36, was stopped by traffic officers driving a Mercedes C220 at about 12.50am in Gonville Place, Cambridge on 25 May.

Checks found he was a disqualified driver and a search of the car found four bags of cocaine: one in the driver’s side rear footwell and three in the centre console.

Two Samsung mobile phones were also seized: one from Hasanpapaj’s pocket and another from a cradle in the car.

Cash was also found in his pockets.

A search of the room Hasanpapaj was staying in at the Slap Up Lodge on Ely Road in Waterbeach uncovered five small bags of cocaine along with £1,794 in cash.

On Friday (21 July), at Cambridge Crown Court, Hasanpapaj, of Lightwoods Road, Smethwick, Birmingham, was jailed for two years and four months having pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and one count of driving whilst disqualified.

He received no separate penalty for admitting possession of criminal property and was disqualified from driving for three years and ordered to take an extended re-test.

DC Louise Clarke said: “We will continue to target people who bring drugs into our county and act on the information the public provide us with to tackle drug-related issues.”
