A drug dealer has been jailed after his DNA was found on a stash of drugs.
Police were on patrol in Cambridge on 18 December 2023 when they spotted the driver of a red Mazda acting suspiciously in Campkin Road.
Officers followed the vehicle and checks revealed it was insured to two different people at two different addresses.
The driver, 31-year-old Baralbo Bregu, was detained and inside his car officers found bags of cocaine in the glove box as well as a mobile phone.
Bregu claimed he had borrowed the car from a friend and wasn’t aware of the drugs but forensic tests were able to link him to it.
At Cambridge Crown Court on Wednesday 8 January 2025, Bregu, from Croydon in Surrey, was sentenced to 2 years and 7 months in prison.
