65-year-old Eric Paterson attacked his victim in a jealous rage.
Paterson went to the victim's home on Wiles Close in Waterbeach on Tuesday 12 March 2024, armed with two knives.
He burst in shouting “I want to kill you”, but the man confronted him and managed to get one of the knives.
Paterson got to the man and stabbed him at the top of the arm and in the back.
His ex-partner tried to grab the knife but as she did so, the blade caused a deep cut to her right hand.
Paterson, of Columbine Road, Ely, hass been jailed for six years. He plead guilty to wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and three counts of possession of a knife in public.
He was also handed a restraining order against his ex-partner for ten years.
Detective Constable Bethany Boulton from Cambridgeshire Police:
“Paterson’s aggressive knife attack was fuelled by pure jealously and has left both victims incredibly traumatised after the ordeal so I’m glad he’s been jailed.”
