The founders of Ben's Yard, Alastair and Victoria Morbey, have been speaking to Star Radio about their busy launch and future plans.
The 2,500-acre Stuntney Estate on the outskirts of Ely has been farmed by the same family since the 1850s.
In 2012, Alastair Morbey inherited the site from his father, along with wife Victoria and their four children.
It was Victoria who first had the idea for Ben's Yard, wanting to create somewhere for people to meet, shop and relax in the Fens.
Victoria describes the vision:
Planning permission was approved in 2020 and the first shops opened their doors on June 30 2023.
Ben's Yard now boasts a dozen local and independent businesses, including a butchers, a hair salon and bike shop.
There is also a children's playground inspired by Ely Cathedral, a cafe and a restaurant.
Victoria says it was a busy start:
Three months since the launch, Alastair and Victoria invited Star Radio's Andy Lake on a tour of the site.
The couple say the future of Ben's Yard looks bright and exciting.
Alastair describes the long-term plan:
Upcoming events include Halloween fun, a Christmas Market and a family Santa Show.
