A fight is underway to prevent "the worst statue in Cambridge" from being removed.
The controversial "Cambridge Don" sculpture represents Prince Philip in his role as Cambridge University chancellor, and was installed outside Charter House on Hills Road several years ago, without planning permission.
Now, Cambridge City Council has issued a formal notice for its removal, describing the sculpture as neither a "successful" nor "high-quality" example of public art.
Unex Ltd has appealed against the notice to try to keep it where it is.
