THE FLAG has been lowered to half-mast over the Guildhall as a mark of respect for the victims of the attack in Westminster.
Cllr Jeremy Benstead, Mayor of Cambridge, said: “The horrific and sickening attack in Westminster has shocked us all.
“This is another attempted attack on our democracy and such attacks will always fail.
“My thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones at this desperately sad time.”
Cllr Benstead led a minute’s silence at 9.33 this morning on the steps of the Guildhall, in memory of those injured and killed in yesterday’s tragic events at Westminster.
