Cambridge United's Head Coach has left the League One side, the club has announced.
It follows a run of poor form and recent defeats for the U's, who are now teetering on relegation to League Two.
Garry Monk joined Cambridge United as Head Coach in March 2024 following the departure of Neil Harris who'd only been in the role for a matter of weeks. Monk was originally appointed on a two-year deal until the summer of 2026.
He'd previously had jobs at Leeds United, Middlesbrough, Birmingham City and Sheffield Wednesday, prior to taking a break from the game in November 2020.
The announcement comes only a few days after Ben Strang left his role as Sporting Director of Cambridge United by mutual agreement.
Paul Barry, Majority Owner of Cambridge United on behalf of the Owners and Board:
"We would like to thank Garry for his hard work and commitment to Cambridge United over the last 12 months.
"He really bought into the Club during his time with us and we are all very disappointed that it has not worked out in the way we would all have hoped.
"In the end, the table does not lie and it is the right moment to make a change as we conclude the first part of our football review.
"There are 15 games of this season remaining, and we must continue to fight together to preserve our League One status over the coming weeks.
"At the same time, we will use this period to plan strategically for the next chapter of the Football Club. We will say more about this in the week."
