The first in a series of Network Rail consolation events is taking place for the public to have their say on plans to build a new station near Trumpington.
Nine such meetings are being held between now and the end of January, the first at the University Centre in Granta Place on Monday night (20th January) between 4pm and 8pm.
If plans get the go ahead Cambridge South would be on the Cambridge-London mainline with services running to London Liverpool Street, London Kings Cross, Peterborough, Cambridge North, Ely and Stansted Airport, enabling easier access to the biomedical campus, the site of Addenbrookes and Royal Papworth hospitals.
£10 million has been provided by the Department for Transport for the new station, which could be operational by 2027.
