Work will soon start to upgrade the station building and restore the canopy at the railway station
Work on the £500,000 project, which will see the canopy stripped back to its timbers and refurbished, and the station building improved, is due to start on March 6 and will be completed by the summer.
A temporary ticket office will be in use while the work takes place and train services will run as normal.
Simone Bailey, Greater Anglia Asset Management Director, said: “We are very proud of our stations, and we are always looking to improve them where possible. This work will help enhance the appearance of Whittlesford Parkway and make it a more pleasant and welcoming space.
“We would like to thank customers for their patience while this work is carried out.”
Some car parking spaces in the car park near platform 2 will be out of use while the work takes place. However, plenty of parking is available near platform 1. Cycle parking is unaffected.
