Plans for a birthday celebration at Littleport’s Adams Community Market are underway, when the market will turn two on Saturday 2nd September.
Launched as part of the Littleport Town Team’s first year Action Plan, in conjunction with the Adams Heritage Centre, the market has introduced a much-needed facility for Littleport’s town centre and supports the existing shops and businesses.
The market, which is run by volunteers, is held on the first Saturday of each month. It hosts a variety of local traders selling high quality products such as bread, cheese, cakes, coffee, fruit, vegetables and meat. This monthly event has helped to revitalise the town centre, increase footfall as well as raise awareness of the Adams Heritage Centre.
Tracey Harding, Town Centres Manager at East Cambridgeshire District Council, said: “We are thrilled that the market has not only been welcomed, but embraced by the local community. Thanks to the continued hard work of volunteers and traders, the market has gone from strength to strength within the past two years. If you haven’t experienced the market yet, join us for the celebrations on Saturday 2nd September.”
This years’ birthday cake has been kindly donated by one of our newest traders, Just 4U Cakes. Owner Clair’Marie Mackness, based in Prickwillow, has used her creative skills to portray the Adams Heritage Centre on one of her fabulous cakes. She will be attending the market for the first time on 2nd September with her array of handmade cupcakes, cookies and healthy fruit bars.
The Adams Community Market 2nd year celebrations will start at 9am on Saturday 2nd September and will close at 1pm. For more information visit www.facebook.com/littleportadamscommunitymarket
