Local property shortlisted for national award after regional success

The team behind the conversion of Tower Mill in Little Downham is heading to London for the LABC national award ceremony after coming top in the regional awards.

Freeman Brear Architects alongside Mr Henry Martin, Offord and Camp LLP and local authority building control team, East Cambridgeshire District Council won the award for “best change of use of an existing building or conversion” after the completion of Tower Mill in Little Downham.

Mr Martin said “Every space is delightful or has elements to delight. It is like living in a holiday home, but every day”.

Jason Johnson, senior building control surveyor at East Cambridgeshire District Council said: “We are really excited that Tower Mill came top, the work the team has done is of an excellent standard and really does deserve recognition at the national awards”.

Known as the largest business-to-business awards in the building control sector, the national LABC awards are due to take place on Friday 10 November 2017 at the Westminster Park Plaza in London.

Judith Brear from Freeman Brear Architects said: “We are thrilled to have got this far and have high hopes for the national awards. Everyone worked really hard on this project and to see all the efforts recognised like this has been fantastic”.
