After inviting residents to use their new self service facility to apply, report and pay for services online, a local district council has rewarded one of its lucky users with an iPad.
November, East Cambridgeshire District Council launched their new online self service system, providing residents with an alternative way to access the council’s services at a time that suits them. As part of the launch, the council ran a competition to award one lucky person who had registered online with a new iPad, kindly provided by software company, Firmstep.
Lucky winner, Liz Allan from Mepal said: “I am thrilled to be the winner of the council’s Click & Connect competition. The website is really easy to use and I would highly recommend it.”
Councillor Jo Webber, Service Delivery Champion for Customer Services said: “It's pleasing to see that many of our residents are making the most of the new self service system and I would encourage everyone to try it out. There are a number of different services that can be accessed by the click of a few buttons, and what’s more, access is available 24/7. By registering their details, our residents can also track the progress of any reports submitted, which gives the reassurance that their requests are being actioned.”
Signing up allows you to complete tasks 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This includes reporting issues such as dog fouling, applying for a parking season ticket and paying council tax.
East Cambridgeshire District Council also unveiled a revamped version of their website alongside the new self service facility. This was completed following a two-week consultation which saw over 300 comments from the public.
