Lorry fire shuts M11 at Duxford for seven hours

A lorry fire on the M11 near Duxford saw the road shut for seven hours.

The HGV, which was carrying a load of batteries, caught fire shortly before 7pm on Tuesday 13 August 2024.

The northbound carriageway was shut to traffic between Junction 9, Saffron Walden and Junction 10, Duxford.

The motorway reopened shortly after 2am on Wednesday 14 August 2024 after a lengthy clear-up operation.
