A man has been charged with murder following a death in Cambridge.
Police were called by the ambulance service with reports of violence at a property on Histon Road at 11.39am on Tuesday 17 September 2024.
A 38-year-old man from Cambridge was discovered at the property in a serious condition, and was treated by paramedics, but was pronounced dead at 12.15pm.
The victim has not been formally identified, a post mortem is scheduled to take place on Thursday 19 September 2024 at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.
Detective Inspector Lee Martin:
"We believe this is an isolated incident, but additional patrols have been put in place since Tuesday to reassure local residents.
"Our thoughts are with the victim’s family – who are being supported by specially trained officers."
Jonathon Austin, 23, of Histon Road, Cambridge, has been charged with murder and will appear at Huntingdon Magistrates' Court.
