A man has been charged with being in possession of a knife in Peterborough city centre.
Richard Duffield, 42, was arrested in Wheel Yard at about 11.30pm on Monday night (16th May) after CCTV operators spotted what they thought was a man carrying a knife.
He has since been charged with being in possession of a knife in a public place and will appear at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (18th May)
Anyone with information about someone who carries a weapon is urged to report online here.
A ‘weapons amnesty’ is being held all week this week, allowing people to dispose of items safely and without fear of prosecution.
