A man has died following a collision on Huntingdon Road in Cambridge this morning (March 24).
The man was driving a blue Volkswagen GTE at 3.45am when he lost control of the vehicle and collided with a lamppost, close to the junction with Thornton Road.
Officers attended the scene, along with representatives from the fire and ambulance services. The man was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, but sadly died of his injuries.
Anyone who saw the collision should contact the roads policing unit on 101.
