The redevelopment of Melbourn Science Park has been given the go ahead.
Staff say the site is "ageing" and needs updating, but some are worried about the size of the new designs.
The developer said the buildings were "no longer fit for purpose" and could fall into decline without work.
Objectors said the new plans, which include a six-storey car park, are "dominating".
Some of the existing buildings are proposed to be kept, but are due to be refurbished and extended.
