Work is continuing apace on Chisholm Trail - the new cycling and walking route connecting Cambridge North to Cambridge Station.
The new jetty, which connects the footpath between Stourbridge Common and Ditton Meadows, will be installed from 13th August. It is expected to be reopen this autumn to enable people to walk and cycle across the common.
The work means restrictions will be put in place for drivers using Fen Road and for users of the River Cam, which will be subject to full closures for different phases of this work.
Letters are being sent to residents and river users about the proposed restrictions. Further information on the lifting in of the Abbey/Chesterton Bridge will be made available in due course.
Once complete, the Chisholm Trail will enable people to walk or ride on a mostly off-road route connecting Cambridge North to Cambridge Station, making it easier and safer to access jobs, education and green spaces.
Construction on the Chisholm Trail is expected to be complete in autumn 2021. See a full list of the road and river closures here.
