A new Medical Director has been appointed at Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Ashley Shaw currently heads up one of the Trust’s Clinical Divisions, with responsibility for Cancer, Imaging, Laboratories and Clinical Support which includes Outpatients and Pharmacy.
He is a Consultant Radiologist with a particular interest in oncological imaging, and an Associate Lecturer at the University of Cambridge. He is also Deputy Editor of Clinical Radiology, the international monthly scientific journal of the Faculty of Clinical Radiology, and a Scientific Editorial Board Member at European Radiology – the Journal of the European Society of Radiology.
Ashley Shaw said: ”I am very pleased to have been appointed as Medical Director at CUH. Now more than ever, the involvement and engagement of our medical staff are key to the future success of the Trust, and I look forward to ensuring that our doctors play their part in leading the innovation and development of services at CUH and across the region.”

He has a long history of working at CUH and an in-depth understanding of the challenges and opportunities that face us. His insight and experience will provide a valuable contribution to our Board.”
Dr Shaw takes over as Medical Director in November 2017.
