A man from Newmarket has received a suspended prison sentence for strangling a woman.
Darryl Breslin, formerly of Engelhard Road, appeared in court on Thursday 1 August 2024, where he was given a 12-month concurrent sentence, suspended for two years.
The offences took place in 2023 and relate to one victim; intentional strangulation was made a specific offence in 2022 as part of the government’s Domestic Abuse Act.
The 33-year-old was also given a 25-day rehabilitation activity requirement.
