A paedophile who sexually abused a girl in Cambridge has been jailed for four years.
Peter Jarvis, 48, assaulted the teenager on three occasions in June and July last year.
Jarvis was arrested and denied sexually assaulting the young girl.
However, as the investigation progressed, he admitted to the offences and in a follow up interview said that he was a paedophile and a “disgusting person”.
He pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual assault on a girl and was sentenced at Huntingdon Law Courts on Tuesday (21 February).
Jarvis, of Sawston, Cambridge, was placed on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely and handed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) to run until further notice, which means he will be closely monitored by officers.
DC Terry Bandoo said: “Jarvis’ abuse has had a huge impact on the victim. I am pleased he is now behind bars and once he is released he will be very closely monitored by specialist officers.”
