A new housing development could be built at Netherhall Farm to the south of Cambridge.

The plans have been recommended for approval by planning officers at Cambridge City Council, with a final decision expected on 24 April 2024.

Outline planning permission to develop the land off Wort's Causeway was formally approved back in 2022.

Made up of a mixture of flats and houses, 80 of the homes are proposed to be made available as affordable housing.

The latest proposals set out more details of what the development could look like.

The developer, Cala Homes, has said it will create an "inclusive and well-designed" development, which will offer a number of benefits for the city.

Concerns have been raised by some locals, including opposition to green belt land being built on, and concerns that 200 new homes would be "overdevelopment".

However, the developer has claimed its proposals offered "significant benefits".
