The Fenland village of Turves near March could be left without a pub.
It's after plans to knock down The Three Horseshoes and replace it with five 3-bedroom homes were submitted to Fenland District Council.
The village lies between Whittlesey and March, with the next closest pub over two-and-a-half miles away in Coates.
The Three Horseshoes dates back to 1860 and remains open to the public.
One local described it as "a pillar of the community and much loved landmark".
Councillors are yet to make a decision on the application.
