Police in St Ives are urging residents to check the security of their homes following a recent spate of burglaries.
11 burglaries have taken place overnight between the hours of 11pm and 4.30am.
In most cases, intruders have gained entry to the properties through unlocked bathroom or kitchen windows. Items such as purses, tobacco and small objects have been stolen.
The burglaries have taken place in:
- Warren Road
- Park Side
- Landcliffe Close
- Hill Rise
- California Road
- Wellington Avenue
- Tennyson Avenue
- Shakespeare Road
- Pettis Road
- Tamar Close
- Hemingford Road
Detective Inspector David Savill said: “Over the last few weeks, we have seen an increase in the number of burglaries in St Ives and we believe they are all linked.
“In almost all of the burglaries, intruders have targeted insecure properties and so I would urge residents to make sure their doors and windows are locked and secure.”
