“We are keen to hear from anyone with any information – anyone who was in the area at the time, witnessed the collision or the driving of either vehicle beforehand, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage.
The collision resulted in the A1 southbound being shut for a considerable amount of time and we would also like to thank motorists in the area for their patience and understanding”.
Anyone with any information is urged to contact police via their website quoting incident 376 of 22 August, or by calling 101 and asking to speak to a member of the Road Policing Unit.
