A 22 year old woman was arrested as part of the Christmas operation.
Police conducted random breath tests along Elizabeth Way in Cambridge on Friday, December 6, and stopped a Toyota Yaris.
The driver, 22-year-old Lydia Solon of White Hart Court, St Ives, admitted to having consumed alcohol two hours earlier. She provided a roadside breath test reading of 58 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the legal limit of 35 microgrammes.
After pleading guilty to drink driving, Solon was disqualified from driving for a year and ordered to pay a £438 fine.
PC Sam Butler, from the Road Policing Unit, said:
“As part of our Christmas drink and drug drive campaign we carry out random spot checks across the county. There is no excuse for drink driving, it puts your life, the life of your passengers and other road users at risk."
