Officers have put a halt to a suspected illegal tobacco racket in Cambridgeshire.
Following a tip off from a member of the public, officers raided a white van on Glebe Road in Huntingdon.
They discovered more than 14,000 packets of tobacco and 95,000 cigarettes in the back of the vehicle.
With the help of officers from HMRC the items, believed to have been brought into the country illegally, were seized and valued.
It’s estimated the duty alone on the haul would have been a staggering £426,735.
An HMRC-led investigation is ongoing.
