Andrew Dunkley is back behind bars after committing another burglary in Bottisham.

A prolific burglar, released from prison earlier this year, has returned to jail.

On 31 May 2023, Andrew Dunkley from Cambridge, stole jewellery, £3,000 in cash and a Volkswagen Polo from a home on Lode Road in Bottisham.

The victim was in hospital when the 35-year-old smashed a hole in the back patio doors and used the key in the lock to open the door.

Dunkley's DNA was found on the door handle.

PC Samantha Chapman from Cambridgeshire Police:

"Dunkley is a prolific burglar with an extensive history of convictions for dwelling burglaries in and around Cambridge.

"Once again he had been out of prison a matter of months before re-offending.

"He has told the court that he is seeking help for addictions, and we sincerely hope he continues with the programme and turns his life around."

On 27 October 2023, Dunkley was sentenced to two years and five months in prison.
