The curtain has come down on Shakespeare At The George after 65 years of live theatre.

Shakespeare at The George in Huntingdon first began in 1959, and since then, the company has put on around 600 open air performances in front of over 75,000 people.

But this summer's production of Hamlet was the last at The George, with the final performance on Saturday 6 July 2024.

Actors say the owner, Greene King, has terminated their annual residency contract and the group is now seeking alternative venues in the Huntingdon area and say they welcome any offers.
