Shire horses have arrived to harvest the wildflower meadow at Kings College in Cambridge.
The heavy horses, surrounded by a team of gardeners, have helped cut the meadow before turning and carting the hay on a traditional wain.
Experts said the traditional methods have had a far lower impact on soil compaction and the flora of the meadow than if a tractor had been used.
The bales will be distributed across the city so more wildflower meadows can grow, with hay also being offered to local farmers as winter feed for livestock.
