Star Radio Partners With District Council For New Broadcast Campaign

Huntingdonshire District Council has announced a new partnership with Star Radio, to support the Council’s current campaign to encourage  residents and visitors  to explore the district.

The HDC campaign ‘What Will You Find In Huntingdonshire’ is currently showcasing the four market towns of Huntingdon, Ramsey, St Ives and St Neots as well as the surrounding areas across its digital channels. Communications are designed to encourage residents to spend time in the local area, whilst giving people reassurance they can shop and socialise safely.

The new partnership with Star Radio enables the campaign to reach greater numbers of residents and potential visitors through Star Radio’s listenership.

Star Radio will broadcast a number of promotional segments up until Christmas, with the station also supporting the campaign with a digital presence on the Star Radio website and its social media platforms.  High Streets, town centres and green spaces all feature as part of the drive to welcome people to Huntingdonshire in a safe way. Star Radio support will see the station highlight the uniqueness of the district – such as the abundance of green spaces in close proximity to our traditional market towns - and will highlight the opportunity to discover new places and spaces across the area whether as a resident or a visitor.

Executive Leader of the Council, Councillor Ryan Fuller, said: “We know that there is  lots to do and discover across Huntingdonshire and we are committed to showcasing what our  district has to offer. Since launching last month, the ‘What Will You Find In Huntingdonshire’ campaign has received some excellent feedback; with growing engagement and interest in the communications that are focussed on encouraging local residents and visitors to explore  Huntingdonshire.  We are hopeful  that our new partnership with Star Radio will help us to reach an even wider audience to promote the best of the district.”

‘What Will You Find In Huntingdonshire’ is funded by the UK Government Welcome Back Fund. The funding also enables Huntingdonshire District Council to support wider community events - with recent sponsorship aligned to the highly praised St Neots Micro Festival and the Shifties End Of Month Gathering. On the 19th September, Pirates In The Park also came to St Neots courtesy of HDC and the Welcome Back Fund – a day of family-friendly activities on Regatta Meadow, in conjunction with ‘International Talk Like A Pirate Day’.
