Tributes paid to man who died after car entered water

35-year-old Jamie Parish.

The family of a man who died near Chatteris say he was taken too soon.

35-year-old Jamie Parish of Stirling Square in Godmanchester, died when after his red Mercedes C220 entered the Fort Foot Drain at Forty Foot Bank  on Thursday 13 June.

The family said in a statement: 

"Jamie was a much-loved husband, brother, son, grandson and a devoted father to his children. He was tragically taken too soon."

Emergency services attended and the road was closed while rescue efforts took place and the vehicle was recovered.

Mr Parish was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are asking anyone who has information or dashcam footage of the car before the incident to contact them on 101.
