Work is underway to relocate Wansford Road station to the Nene Valley Railway.

Wansford Road station, between the villages of Wansford and Sutton, was built in 1867 and closed in 1929.

The site was earmarked for demolition as part of plans to dual the A47, but thanks to more than £200,000 of funding from National Highways, the building will now be moved "brick by brick".

Volunteers at the Nene Valley Railway and Railworld Wildlife Haven are hoping the Victorian structure will become part of a revamped entrance in 2025.

Work to dismantle the building will take 8-10 weeks.
