Ballots were cast in a car in Chesterton because the polling station was locked.

Voters at Milton Road Library got vote from the back of a car after officials "had problems getting into the building".

Local elections are taking place on Thursday 2 May 2024 including for Cambridge City Council, Peterborough City Council and for Cambridgeshire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC).

Polls opened at 7am and staff made it into Milton Road Library by around 8.15am.

They have said "well done and thank you to our polling teams who remained calm and carried on!"
