Warrant Uncovers £4k Of Class A Drugs

A teenager has been jailed for more than three years after a warrant uncovered thousands of pounds worth of heroin, cocaine and cannabis.

Adil Pervez's home in Ledbury Road, Peterborough, raided by police on 31 March.

Despite there being no one inside, officers found a stash of what was believed to be cocaine hidden in a bedside table.

A manhunt was launched and on 28 April information was received that Pervez was back at the Ledbury Road property.

Officers found him hiding in the loft and then seized heroin, cocaine, cannabis and a number of phones.

Analysis from an expert revealed the drugs had a street value of about £4,200.

Pervez, 19, was arrested and later admitted charges of possession of cannabis and two counts of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

He was sentenced to three years and 11 months in prison at Cambridge Crown Court.

DC Sarah Morgan said: "I am pleased that a substantial amount of class A drugs have been taken off the streets of Peterborough as a result of this investigation.

"I hope the sentence highlights how seriously drug dealing is taken in Cambridgeshire. Drugs can have devastating effects on our communities and we will continue to do all we can to target dealers."
