What to know ahead of the Cambridge Folk Festival

One of the longest running folk festivals in the world is back for 2024.

The first Cambridge Folk Festival was held all the way back in 1965, and fast forward six decades, it attracts 14,000 people to the grounds of Cherry Hinton Hall every July.

The festival is renowned for its unique atmosphere and its eclectic mix of music, as the best traditional folk artists rub shoulders with the finest contemporary acts.

Famous names on the bill in 2024 include Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant, and Turin Brakes, who found fame in the 2000s with their single "Painkiller".
