Celebrations take place in Ely every year over the early May Bank Holiday weekend.
The festivities in 2024 are particularly special, because they mark 50 years since Ely "officially" became a city.
The annual Eel Festival is broken down into two parts, the Eel Day and the Food, Drink and Craft Festival.
Ely Eel Day celebrates the city's namesake, the eel, with a parade from Cross Green outside Ely Cathedral, through the city to Jubilee Gardens.
Festivities afterwards include an eel throwing tournament, using specially made eel toys, and the annual Town Crier competition.
Eel Day is taking place on Saturday 4 May 2024, with the Eel Parade starting at 10.30am.
The Food, Drink and Craft Festival continues through Sunday 5 and Monday 6 May 2024, with live music and over 60 street food vendors and market traders on Jubilee Gardens and Cross Green.
