What to know ahead of the General Election in Cambridgeshire

The UK goes to the polls on Thursday 4 July 2024.

Cambridgeshire is split into eight constituencies this year, up from seven in 2019, with the addition of St Neots and Mid Cambridgeshire.

The full list is Cambridge, South Cambridgeshire, Ely and East Cambridgeshire, Huntingdon, St Neots and Mid Cambridgeshire, North East Cambridgeshire, North West Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

All Cambridgeshire constituencies have had a Conservative MP since 2019, apart from Cambridge which is currently Labour, and all serving MPs are seeking re-election, except Jonathan Djanogly, who is stepping down after over two decades.

The polls are open on Thursday 4 July 2024 from 7am to 10pm and the results are expected early on Friday 5 July 2024.

Your polling station is listed on your poll card. It can also be found on your local council’s website.

Everyone who registered and is eligible to vote will now have received a poll card, although people do not need their poll card to vote.

This is the first UK General Election at which you will need to show an acceptable form of photo ID to receive a ballot paper and cast your vote in person at a polling station.
