A woman has died following a crash on the A142 that injured six people.
Two cars collided on the road between Fordham and Newmarket on Sunday 5 May 2024.
78-year-old Eileen Spanner, from Fulbourn, was a passenger in one of the cars.
She was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge but died on Tuesday 7 May 2024.
Five others were seriously injured in the crash, including two children, and they continue to have hospital treatment.
Eileen's family have released this statement:
"Eileen was a very much-loved mother of two daughters and nana to four grandchildren, who she adored. She was a loved sister, auntie and partner. She had a very special relationship with each of her grandchildren."
"We are all desperately sad and shocked that she has been taken from us far too early and in such an awful, sudden way and that we will not have her in our lives. She will be missed by everyone who knew her."
A 37-year-old man, from Wicken, has been charged with six counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving with no insurance.
He will appear at Cambridge Crown Court on Tuesday, 4 June.
Cambridgeshire Police are urging witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
